Luxury Retail versus Online Selling

Is it possible retail stores will become mostly showrooms for online stores and customers will use them for fitting mostly ?

I think we’ll see a heavy continued move towards brands having direct deals with influencers to peddle the online sales as retail makes its slow death. The only area I see staying and doing well is clothing as I have had too many problems with the right fit buying online. I think jewelry and watch stores will go the way of Blockbuster video as well, but that’s just me.

I agree with Ryan some sectors are spared, for now. But i also tend to believe online selling will soar up to certain point and there will be revival times for retail stores that needs to re-invent themselves. Especially the luxury retail business, where customers seeks for perfection-dream-experience.
