“Dior by Christian Dior” new bio book now free online

Dior bio

The 245 pages of the book “Dior by Christian Dior” are now available free online. It’s one of the “beautiful books”, of those that are proudly displayed in your library. However, the Dior house has understood the importance of offering its community a digital alternative: the book “Dior by Christian Dior”, published by Editions Assouline in 2016, is now available in digital and free version, in English and in French. French.

Designed to mark the 70th anniversary of the house, the book traces the history and creations of Christian Dior from 1947 to 1957, and is illustrated by the photographs of Laziz Hamani. In total, more than eighty pieces, from his first “New Look” collection to his last entitled “Fuseau”, are described by Olivier Saillard, fashion historian.

This is not the first time that the label has made available a book dedicated to its brand DNA: earlier in the year, Dior had indeed unveiled a digital and free version of the couturier’s autobiography. Open access books, online tour of its major retrospective exhibition, podcasts – Dior Untold, Dior Talks, Dior Talks Joaillerie or even Dior Tales -: enough to illustrate the house’s desire to position its brand content on multiple and varied media, at 360 °.
